Data From CSV

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

TexRev gives you the option of importing data using a comma separated value (CSV) file. Any spreadsheet can be saved in this format. Additionally, data from a database such as Access or your company's proprietary system (SAP, etc.) can export tables directly to CSV. See the help for your particular source application to learn how export to this format. TexRev does require that the first row of the CSV's table contain the column headers, and all following rows contain data. Though the columns header names of your table's fields do not have to be identical to TexRev's CSV Import Field Names, you will be required to map them to the latter. See Import Field Specifications to learn more about what data the import requires.

At any point during the import process, you can scroll to the bottom of the page and click Cancel to return to the Revenue Reporter page or click Reset to clear your options and restart the import process.

The comma separated value file must have the extension .CSV. TexRev allows your import file to be up to 20 MB in size.

If the file is successfully uploaded, TexRev will present you with the CSV Import Options section to specify how you want to map your fields.

Once all required import fields are mapped or specified, click the Import Table button to commit your data to the system

If there are required fields not accounted for in the Import Options, TexRev will abort the import process and notify you of the missing fields.

If TexRev has any problems with the import, you will be notified and presented with an Import Error Log file to use for corrections.

If the table is imported correctly you'll see a confirmation message and you can click Done to return to the Revenue Reporter page.
