DLN (Document Locator Number) Reference is an optional parameter specifiable in Account Detail searches only.

It is used to locate transactions in the tax system. An individual transaction contains the uploaded records of a given Taxpayer ID, Tax Sub Type and Filing Period,

For example, if company ABC uploads an Amendment EDI filing for several filing periods for two Taxpayer IDs, each filing period for each Taxpayer ID would be assigned its own DLN.

A DLN is assigned by the State and can number up to 11 digits in length and contain dashes. In TexRev, do not include dashes when specifying a value.

** Known Issue **

In theory, a DLN is supposed to be unique by transaction; however, in practice this is sometimes not the case. You may find that a DLN has been repeated for multiple taxpayers.
